The Holy One, Blessed be He, said, "I will not enter the heavenly Jesusalem untill I can enter the earthly Jerusalem", [meaning untill there is holiness in the Jerusalem on earth]. [The Gemara asks:] Is there a Jerusalem above? [The Gemara answers:] Yes. For it says, "The built-up Jerusalem is like the city with which it is joined together" (Psalms 122:3) [meaning: Jerusalem on earth is modeled after its prototype in heaven].
